Fabletics

At Fabletics, they create clothing that inspires you to stay active, whether that means competing in an iron(wo)man competition, sweating in the studio, or chasing after your kids. American Apparel Designed, Cut and Sewn in Los Angeles

American Apparel

Passion, innovation & ethical practices for the clothing industry. That’s American Apparel. A garment worker in Bangladesh earns an average of $600 a year. An experienced American Apparel garment worker can earn $30,000+ and receive benefits such as comprehensive health care. American Apparel garments are created by motivated and fairly-paid employees who don’t just have jobs – they have careers. Our culture recognizes outstanding performance and promotes from within. Most importantly, our workers have a voice and influence the direction of the company. At American Apparel we call it Sweatshop-Free, a term we coined in 2002.

Unlike Our Competitors, We Make Our Own Product. The American Apparel factory is the largest sewing facility in North America. We believe that integrating our manufacturing, distribution and creative processes keeps our company more efficient than those who rely on offshore or onshore sub-contracting. By leveraging art, design, and technology at our Downtown LA campus, we are able to pay garment workers fairly AND sell garments profitably so we can sustain our business and grow. Everyone benefits – customers, workers, and shareholders alike.
The New Standard That Others Will Follow

There is clearly much more overhead, capital investment and training involved in manufacturing in the USA, as some critics point out. But at American Apparel we passionately leverage art, design and technology to advance our business process and we are confident we’ll prove that vertical integration is a viable business model that can work even better than the status quo model of continuous outsourcing. It’s not just about made in the USA. More importantly, it is about designing a business that does not, at its fundamental core, rely on the relentless pursuit of low cost labor to survive. As wages and transportation costs increase worldwide, we believe our business model of vertical integration to be the path of least resistance. For the record, American Apparel supports free and fair trade, and almost half of the company’s 250 stores are outside the USA, allowing the company to export hundreds of millions of dollars of US-made apparel annually.
Environmental Commitment

American Apparel is also committed to sustainability. We’ve set the precedent for sustainable and ethical manufacturing in California—the state with the strictest and most progressive EPA standards in the country. By concentrating our entire operation within a few square miles, American Apparel has a smaller carbon footprint than our competitors. We recycle almost all our manufacturing waste—an average of 125,000 lbs of textile and 25,000 lbs of paper, plastic and cardboard per week (over 260 semi truck loads per year). As of 2014, we are virtually landfill-free. Our solar panels offset as much as 20% of our electrical usage, and we ship the majority of our goods to our worldwide stores via excess space on passenger flights and busses, minimizing our environmental impact.

Manufacturing in America requires risk taking and long-term investment. We think it’s well worth it. The apparel industry’s reliance on low wages cannot be sustained over time, ethically or fiscally. As labor and transportation costs increase worldwide, exploitation will not only be morally offensive, it will not even be financially viable. For us, American manufacturing is not a trend – we’ve been doing it since the day our company began in Los Angeles fifteen years ago. We are extremely proud of our model, which provides thousands of good jobs both domestically and internationally. American Apparel’s current head count is 6,000 in Los Angeles, with an additional 5,000 working at our stores worldwide.

Haband Online Quality Clothing Catalog

Haband

“You’ll Never Get a Better Deal!” That’s been the motto of Haband Company ever since its humble beginnings back in 1925. Founded that year in Paterson, New Jersey by M. Habernickel Jr. and John Anderson, the company initially sold quality handmade ties at a few local banks. But once Habernickel got the bright idea to take photographs of the ties and mail those “advertisements” to banks far out of the reach of Habernickel and his bicycle, the business was off and running, operating exclusively through the U.S. Mail. It wasn’t long before the family-owned business expanded its offerings to include a full line of casual and dress menswear and Habernickel’s son, Duke, had been given the reins as President of the company. The company still operates through the mail but savings are now available online too!

As Haband continued to grow, a complete line of ladieswear fashions was developed, and later a full selection of gifts, gadgets, and products for the home was added as well. Today, Haband is the Headquarters for Savings to over 5 million customers all across this great land of ours and still growing! And even though you won’t find any neckties in Haband’s value-packed selection these days, the one thing you will always find is a Better Deal than you’ll get anywhere else guaranteed!

Lord and Taylor – Designer Clothing, Shoes, Handbags, Accessories & More

Lord and Taylor

Since 1826, Lord & Taylor has built a reputation for service, for quality, and most of all, for style. By creating a unique mix of the latest trends and the timeless classics, we have become the favorite store of generations of shoppers.

The windows of the Lord & Taylor flagship location on Fifth Avenue have been making an impact on the New York fashion scene for more than 90 years and that influence is only going to spread as we continually expand and improve lordandtaylor.com.

Lord & Taylor is not only at the forefront in fashion but we’ve also set significant trends in the retailing industry. We were the first retailer with the vision to move to Fifth Avenue – and the first to install an elevator. We were also the first to open a branch store, the first to develop the concept of offering personal shopping services and the first to create Christmas windows for pure delight rather than selling merchandise, a tradition that continues today.

And, perhaps the most significant first is that Lord & Taylor was the first store to have a woman as president. Dorothy Shaver was a visionary who made an impact on the emerging American fashion industry by showcasing the work of the American designers who truly shaped American style. Claire McCardle, Bonnie Cashin, Norell, Pauline Trigere, Luis Estevez and Vera Maxwell all made their debut in our Fifth Avenue windows.

Lord & Taylor think shopping should be an experience – and we’re always looking for new ways to enhance that experience. We have added to our list of customer services, and we are continuing to bring you the designer names you want as well as enhancing our own exclusive lines. We’ve also made online shopping easier by editing our merchandise assortments with you in mind.

Their goal is simple – to make Lord & Taylor your favorite store.
