Charles Clinkard

When Charles and Eveline Clinkard opened their first shoe shop in 1924, they little knew they were founding a footwear empire – and a family dynasty that still runs the company 90 years later. The business began in 1924 with the opening of a shoe shop in Middlesbrough. From small beginnings The Clinkard Group has now grown to be the leading Independent Footwear Retailer in the North East and one of the largest Independents in the UK. The current Managing Director – Charles Clinkard – is the grandson of the founders and continues the values that have established the business.

In a market place that is becoming increasingly competitive, the Clinkard Group looks to maintain its edge through a combination of tradition, quality and service. These values along with the excellent brand selection we offer, allow us to occupy a niche position in the middle to upper sector of the retail market place. The business has been developed on trust and reputation, working closely with our suppliers, customers and trade connections. The Clinkard reputation for quality and service is not only recognised by these suppliers and throughout the trade, but also by our retail customers. This we believe can be credited to the extremely high calibre of people we employ. They are a major factor in the continued success of the business.

Today, the Clinkard Group has 33 stores across the UK, and managing director Charles is the third generation to be in charge. Through reinvesting profits, the Group has expanded the business to a point where annual turnover now represents sales of footwear in excess of thirty million pounds and employment is provided for more than 450 people. Looking forward, we aim to strengthen our position through continually reviewing our business strategy and building on our core strengths.

Superga Buy Direct Superga Footwear – A/W 2015

It’s hard to believe that Superga is well over 100 years old. Under the care and attention of Walter Martiny in 1911, the Superga factory began to produce shoes with vulcanized rubber soles. It was here, in Turin, Italy, the Classic Superga 2750 heritage style was born.

After closing during the war, the Superga factory reopened with a mission to bring high quality footwear to the people of Italy. The 2750 became established as the people’s shoe of Italy, and Superga increased its product line with technical sport shoes, rubber rain boots and a growing range of colours and styles.

The 2750 shoe has been an icon since the very beginning and has inspired flatforms and mid tops, been transformed for all weathers, and has collaborated with top names to bring you fresh new designs. Taking you from the city to the beach, from the office to the bar, or from the high street to the park, the easy, comfortable Superga shoe has no boundaries.

TOMS Shoes for Everyone

Toms Shoes

In 2006, American traveler Blake Mycoskie befriended children in a village in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS®, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. One for One™.

Realizing this movement could serve other basic needs, TOMS® Eyewear was launched. With every pair purchased, TOMS® will help give sight to a person in need. One for One™.

When TOMS sells a pair of shoes, a pair of shoes is given to an impoverished child, and when TOMS sells a pair of eyewear, part of the profit is used to save or restore the eyesight for people in developing countries. That’s TOMS philosophy and after much great success over the past few years it’s become obvious TOMS are a popular fashion brand. Since 2006, people like you have helped us achieve this amazing number — and it’s leading to bigger, better things! Like giving different types of shoes based on terrain and season, or creating local jobs by producing shoes in countries where we give. TOMS® Shoes are always given to children through humanitarian organizations who incorporate shoes into their community development programs.

In addition to the alpargata-inspired Classics, TOMS offers a variety of footwear styles for men, women and kids. From everyday men’s shoes like Paseos to fun and flirty Strappy Wedges, they’re sure to have a style you’ll enjoy.

TOMS eyewear is inspired by iconic and vintage style, from wayfarer-inspired Classics to pilot frames to historic oversized lenses, and every purchase provides TOMS customers the opportunity to restore sight to a person in need.
